New, free expedition for exploring roguelike Renowned Explorers: International Society

Renowned Explorers: International Society [Official Site] is a game about being a mean dickwad to everyone you meet. I hear there are other ways of playing it, but I can’t see why’d anyone want to do that. I played and praised it when it first came out, and after a few months of bugfixing and balance updates the team at Abbey Games have prepared the first content DLC for it – and it’s free!

The Mali Mystery update will add a new expedition, which I presume will be to Mali, and with it new leaderboards to compare your runs with those of your friends. When I played it I found the game to be rather solid, bar a couple of bugs, but the addition of new expeditions and places to go will address the issue I had with repeating the same expedition throughout multiple playthroughs. As they say, variety is the spice of life.

    1. It’s been a decent while since I bought an EA game, but now that they’ve announced they’re going to focus on new IPs I might open the Origin store again. Usually indie companies are the best when it comes to DLC – Shovel Knight also gave for free a DLC that was as long as the main game. I imagine it has something to do with publishing your own game and not having someone breathing down your neck to maximize profits.
